Welcome to the blog of Janet Tryner, Contemporary Artist. Here are notes about works in progress, workshop news and random writing. Also, bits and bobs that for some reason or other haven't made it onto Instagram or my website, which I try to keep in a tidy state, but sometimes I just have to write more about what I'm up to with stuff. I don't have a regular update plan but this is a 'live' site. So, if it isn't up to date when you visit, it will be at some point. Please check back.

The crossroads at Ugly Bridge Road
I did this today during my child's nap time.
I love the name of the road. I only saw it as I was leaving and I didn't spot the 'ugly bridge'. I don't like to doctor an image too much - cables and pylons, wind farms, etc are part of our landscape as much as trees, fields and houses.
I'll look for the ugly bridge next time.

Petal people sketches
I've done a few of these recently. I like how they are going but I am deliberating over whether to use some text too. I just like the idea that if each petal of a daisy had the ability to talk they'd be chattering all day.
There were some beautiful shadows from the glass beaker that was next to my sketchbook:
I should probably quadruple the number of petals.
